Everybody "Wants" - But How Many Really Have The Motivation To Get It?

Everybody "Wants" - But How Many Really Have The Motivation To Get It?

Everybody "Wants" - But How Many Really Have The Motivation To Get It?
By Keith A. Shaw

Every action you take, no matter how big or how small, defines everything that you achieve in life. And, with every action there is a motive - something that puts a person in motion.

Is motivation an incentive, such as a monetary reward or a gift? For example, when you were younger your father or mother might have told you that, "For every "A" you get in school next semester, I'll give you a specified amount of money". I'll bet that it probably worked. You achieved a few "A's", took the cash and then achieved less than stellar grades the following semester when the incentive was not offered again.

Or is motivation a threat? For example, your doctor may have told you recently, "If you don't lose weight, exercise regularly and eat right, your cholesterol level will continue to be through the roof! So, for a few months, you do what the doctor says. You go back for a follow up. Your health is better. And to celebrate, you head off to the nearest fast-food restaurant for a greasy burger, greasier fries and sugary drink. Again, the effect is temporary.

Motivation is not about external incentives, rewards, inducements or threats. My definition of motivation is "an emotion or desire that operates on the "will to do" and causes it to take action". To be long lasting, motivation MUST come from inside you. Seneca said, "Most powerful is he that has himself in his own power". The "will to do" is the greatest power in the world tied to human accomplishment. And no one can predict its limits.

Where does the "will to do" come from? Unlike the products in so many advertisements, television infomercials and "spammy" e-mails, it does not come in a handy pill to instantaneously transform you from a "dud" to a "stud".

So how does one develop a high level of motivation that serves them day in and day out? In my Success System, The Power Of Concentration - How To Take Control Of Your Life, I cover a number of success strategies to develop your "will to do". I'll briefly cover two of them here.

My Motivation Strategy #1: There Needs To Be A Desire To Change Within You...

Every one of us possesses some level of "will to do". It is the inner energy which controls all conscious and subconscious acts. Your "will to do" directs your life forces, habits (both good and bad) and your condition in life. Your will has a connection with all avenues of knowledge, activities, and accomplishment. When you develop the power of concentration within you, you will have developed a higher level of self mastery and your "will to do".

The "will to do" is a force that is strictly practical. We know it is a force through its cause-and-effect nature. It is a power, like electricity, we can direct. To the extent we direct it, we determine our future. Every time you accomplish any definite act, consciously or subconsciously, you use the principle of the will. Through the "will to do" you can do anything. Therefore the way you use your will - both right and wrong - will make a huge difference in the outcome of your life focus.

You probably know of cases where people have shown tremendous strength under some traumatic experience: The frail person who lifts a heavy car to save the person trapped underneath. The fireman, who rushes into a burning building in order to save others, is another example. In both examples, they used their "will to do" to accomplish the task.

The "will to do" can accomplish great results through activities that grow out of great concentration. In developing the power of concentration, we acquire the power of voluntary attention to such an extent that we can direct it where we want to and hold it steadily to its task, until we accomplish our goals. When you learn to use your will power it becomes a mighty force. Almost everything can be accomplished through its proper use. It is greater than physical force because it can be used to control not only your physical actions, but also your mental health and mind power.

Here's My Motivation Strategy #2: Develop "Clearly-Defined Goals"...

Many human-performance experts, including yours truly, believe the #1 reason why most people will never get what they want is they - roll of the drum, please! - really don't know what they want. A few years ago, a study by the Ford Foundation revealed that 90% of people have no idea or plans for getting what they want in life! Imagine how motivated you will be if you start every day with clearly-defined goals and the emotion and desire for achievement in all areas of your life.

For example, what if you took time to visualize your exciting and very specific career and financial objectives? Then, you created objectives for the personal and professional relationships in your life. And, when you were done, you took the time to write down these thoughts in a written action plan with on-going self improvement and self-development milestones. Can you see how this would give you more excitement and motivation everyday? Don't you agree that clarity about your direction in life is a powerful motivator?

Here are just a few examples of challenges that I have faced on my success quest. You may have encountered these as well. If you haven't yet, I guarantee you will. And, when you can control your thoughts and actions, you will overcome them.

Challenge Number One:

Ignore The "Naysayer's"...These are the people who always were there to criticize or create chaos to try to distract or detract me from my success quest. In all of our lives, we have what I call "Drama Queens" and "Melodramatic Men", who due to jealousy, hidden agendas or lack of purpose in their own lives will be there to try to knock you off course. This is when the habit of self discipline and self mastery will assist you in overcoming this challenge.

Challenge Number Two:

Be prepared for your success quest to take longer and be tougher than you ever imagined. Expect potholes, detours, and other obstacles. Expect that at times the going may get so rough that you may want to quit and start over - for example, if you are running a business, there may come a time financially when you must make that decision. These are the times that will challenge those who do not have the will to do and perseverance to stay the course. For situations such as these, I created what I call my "preposition approach" to achieving success - what I mean is with obstacles and challenges you can go "over", "around", "under" and "through" them. This type of thinking allows you to deal with any situation.

Challenge Number Three:

Always ensure that you ask for what you want. If you do not ask for what you want, then the answer will always be NO.

Motivational Story - How To Have Mentality Of A Winner

Motivational Story - How To Have Mentality Of A Winner
By Suhardi Csd Hardi

One day, there was a child who sold cakes made by his mother. He sold the cakes on the street or sidewalk where many people passed by. He did his routine activity by selling the cakes to other people who were passing by.

One day, he offered his cakes to a man on a street. But the man did not intend to buy his cakes. And then he took out his money and gave it to that child. He said, "Take this money, I give it to you." And the child then took the money. However, he did not take the money for himself. He gave the money to the beggar sitting next to him. Looking at what the child had done, he felt surprised. He asked the child, "I have given you my money, but why don't you keep it? Why do you give it to the beggar?" And the child immediately answered, "My mother always tells me not to receive the money from other people. We are not beggar. We take the money only when someone buys our cakes. Although we are not rich, we always work hard to earn money in the right way, we do not ask someone to give us money."

The man was so surprised and the words did not come out of his mouth after listening to what the child was saying. He was amazed at the child. And then he smiled and told the child, "OK. I will buy all of your cakes today. You have given me a very good lesson. How much do all your cakes cost?" Then the man paid the child for the cakes. The man got the valuable lesson and the child was so happy with the money that he earned so quickly.

Message for readers:

You can learn from the child at the illustrative story above. Although he was not rich, his mental is great. He did not take the money unless someone bought and paid for his cakes.

Often there are many people who are mentally poor. One of the factors of successful life is having the success mental or having the mental of a champion. If you have this type of mental or attitude, you will have bigger chances to reach the gateway of success although you have not been successful yet. It's not who you are today that determines your success in the future. It is your mental that determine your success in the future. People who have mental of a champion will always have high motivation to be a champion or successful although they were not successful in the past. Once again, who you were in the past will not determine your future. The past is not equal with the future.

If you are not successful today or if you feel that you are not destined to be successful, don't worry. By having mental of a successful person, you will have motivation to try once again. If you have mental of a loser, your action and effort will not be in full power that can cause you to achieve not-so-good results. A loser always has mental of a loser, a winner always has mental of a winner.

Motivational Makeover

Motivational Makeover

Motivational Makeover
By Ronnie Nijmeh

So often, we see individuals on television receiving a free makeover from a talk show host or a panel of celebrity "fashion police" on a reality show. The participants are absolutely elated with their new clothes, new hairstyle, and fresh new look. Their faces beam at the idea of becoming a new person - shedding off the old and taking on a new, different persona, like a snake shedding its skin. The transformation is sometimes drastic and commonly for the better.

Would it not be equally energizing and advantageous if we were able to give our personalities, attitudes, and thoughts a motivational makeover? We should not only want to look our best, but also feel our best and have the best of ourselves on display for the entire world to observe.

We can begin our internal renovation by making use of free motivational wallpapers in our workspace and personal desktops. Our senses and emotions are immediately heightened by these motivational wallpaper backgrounds. These jewels of photography and inspirational quotes can jar our outlook and attitudes. Our minds are excited into new thought processes, and our personalities have only to follow.

Motivational wallpaper backgrounds possess quotes created to incite a person to action. The presented imagery highlights hope, change for the better, success, and wisdom - all of the things necessary to makeover an individual's psyche. Real, lasting change can only come about if it derives from within and makes it way outward. These free and awe inspiring wallpapers help to boost an individual's self-perception, elevate progress, and add to endless possibilities. And as a result, positive energy emanates through their facial expressions, body language, verbal communication, actions, and outer appearance.

Free motivational wallpapers are tremendously engaging. The nature photographs generate a calming sensation and allow one to reflect on the words, which seem to speak directly to us. In addition, they permit us a moment to think about how the quotes apply to their personal and work life. The spirit is uplifted, and the mind and body are spurred into doing. No longer does the person want to sit in one place - in a state of complacency. The comfort of procrastination and stagnation are replaced by new momentum and direction.

Motivation is a powerful tool. If we can study and accept the benefits from its impact on our lives, we can undoubtedly attain a great deal from our personal relationships, our place of work, and ourselves. We live in a society that focuses greatly on aesthetics and pours millions of dollars into the cosmetic, medical, and fashion industries in order to look a certain way. We are frequently bombarded with "what's in" and the latest fads and trends. With so much being hurled our way to make us prettier, leaner, or more glamorous, we should not lose sight of the most important enhancement - our attitudes and characters.

By enriching our personalities with motivation, our inner and outer selves will receive the makeover they deserve, and our overall physical and emotional qualities will greatly improve.

The Art of Change - Resistance Is Futile!

The Art of Change - Resistance Is Futile!

The Art of Change - Resistance Is Futile!
By Camille Strate

Why in the world do we resist change so hard? Why is it that the moment we're faced with change we get so pessimistic? Why do we think that change will always equal disaster? It's such an odd thing to me that we do this (and believe me, I'm just as guilty sometimes!). When faced with any kind of change, whether it be a new landlord or a new job or the first wrinkle on your face, we go into a tizzy and start hyper-ventilating like we're about to be strung up on a rack. It's so....silly?

I got to thinking about this the other day when I was told that the property I rent is on the market. Apparently, the current owners have decided they'd rather take a loss than hold on to their many properties, in lieu of some other new adventure. My breathing immediately became shallow. I could feel the sweat on my hands and that icky tickle in my belly. OH NO! WHAT NOW? My first and instant response was that this could NOT be good. Why? Why did I immediately go there? Why did I automatically assume that a new land owner would make my life difficult? How could I know this? Why didn't I, instead, think to myself, "well, this could be a grand adventure. This could be just what the doctor ordered. This could be terrific!" Nope. Went in the opposite direction of those thoughts and I did it in a blink. SHEESH!

After I regained my balance, I got to thinking about the way I USED TO look at change. When I was a kid and I found out something new was about to happen, I'd get all excited. I would have a million 'super-cool' possibilities run through my little head, like I'd just found a magic lamp and the genie was about to pop out and grant wishes. I was the most optimistic little Being you'd ever meet. So what happened? How did I go from that creature to this one? How did I lose that optimistic perception of the world? When did I decide that change meant 'BAD'?

As I sat and pondered these things, it suddenly occurred to me that these thoughts of doom and gloom were a result of old tapes being played by someone else. Fact is, my whole life has been pretty charmed and no matter what kind of changes I've ever faced, I have ALWAYS ended up in a better place. Whether it meant moving to a new home or a new city or a new boyfriend (LOL!), it was always BETTER than before the change occurred. So where did this come from? Perhaps there's some residual contamination from those around me who ARE the kind of people who think change is death. Or maybe it's just some weird thing that happens after a certain age. Once we are faced with our own mortality, do we automatically see all change as a sign that death is moving closer? If this is the case, why are we so afraid of death? We all know that sooner or later we're going to leave these shells we call bodies and move on to some other realm of Being. So what's all the fuss about?

I have decided that I'm going to adopt the perspective of a 10 year old. I'm going to look at any change that's offered as a means to an adventure. I'm going to look at the possibilities as opportunities for growth and expansion. I'm going to embrace change, regardless of the form it takes. I'm going to live like all that could ever come to me is GOOD. Because the moment I bring my thoughts to this place, every single thing in my world looks like a brand new gift. It's all wrapped in pretty paper with a bow on top, and I have no idea what's inside. But you can bet I'm excited about seeing what it is! Perhaps if we all embraced change this way, we'd have fewer people on Xanax and more people living in enthusiastic anticipation. Perhaps, regardless of our 'age' or station, we could finally say YES to Life. After all, the only moment we ever have is this one. Why not make the most of it?

10 Ways To Get Unstuck Today!

10 Ways To Get Unstuck Today!

10 Ways To Get Unstuck Today!
By Caroline Jalango

Here is how to get your life, work or personal goals out of that rut...right now!

1. Clarify matters that remain unclear.

Are you stuck because you are in a mental fog? How can you possibly move forward with confidence if you don't know where you are headed? What exactly are you doing and what end result are you seeking? Resolve these issues!

2. Collaborate with someone.

Don't hesitate to reach out to people who can help you complete tasks, brainstorm or solve problems. Swallow your pride if you must; delegate what you can't do on your own and pay to receive this help if necessary! Whatever you do...get the help you need to get unstuck and make progress.

3. Ask for a deadline extension.

If you are working on other people's projects, ask for a deadline extension so you can "get yourself together!" Don't stress yourself unnecessarily because the project is due and you are experiencing "brain freeze." Ask for more time if you need it!

4. Fight the overwhelm factor.

Break down the task into bite-sized pieces and schedule specific days or periods of time to work on specific parts of the task. This will eliminate overwhelm, get you unstuck and make your work more enjoyable and manageable.

5. Conquer your personal fears and "just do it!"

Think about it...whatever happens after you deal with "your fear" is going to be much better than being paralyzed with fear and doing absolutely nothing with your life or about your work! So, why not take the worthwhile risk and go for what you really want?

6. Gather information about your area of focus.

Find out how others have successfully resolved the issues you are now facing and apply those principles to your situation. Knowledge liberates!

7. Know thyself and especially thy limits.

For example: if you feel that you have "bitten more than you can chew" be open and honest about it. If you feel that you have miscalculated the magnitude of the work involved in a project... inform the person who has assigned the task. They may offer a solution or ask you to work only on the specific areas you can handle.

8. Get some rest!

Are you stuck because you are tired and can't think straight? How many mistakes or miscalculations have you made as a result of fatigue? How many tasks seem insurmountable to a fatigued mind? Get some sleep and return to the task with fresh vigor!

9. Stop the struggle and get in the flow.

Sometimes it's important to be "stuck" and let life play out. It's important to learn and grow from the experience of what's happening and why it's happening at that moment. Who are you becoming as a result of being "stuck?" The life lessons are priceless!

10. Abandon ship.

As a last resort, if you are feeling miserable because you are "stuck" doing something you don't like, experiencing excessive stress over something you truly believe you can't do or make progress on...be kind to yourself and "dump" it!

Preparation - The Docking Station of Opportunity

AchievementRadio.com's

Preparation - The Docking Station of Opportunity

Preparation - The Docking Station of Opportunity
By Mark A. Singh

Many people watch opportunities pass them by throughout their lives. Opportunities to grow wealth, to get better jobs, to flourish and so on. Do you know why opportunities pass people by? Preparation. The lack of it to be more exact. It was Abraham Lincoln who said, "give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe." That is the spirit of one who prepares. More time should be spent preparing for the opportunity.

Most people spend their lifetime imagining the opportunity coming their way, however they spend little or no time preparing for the opportunity. Here is a principle: Opportunity needs a docking station. That docking station is preparation.

If you are going through life without any plans for the future, then chances are you are not preparing. If you have a dream and you are not taking any actions towards that dream, you are not preparing. Preparation is the process that keeps athletes on the ball courts long after everyone else has left. Preparation is what wakes successful leaders two or more hours before the average person, to work on their goals.

What are some actions that an average person can take that can be considered preparation? Take education for example. If you have a high school diploma, then you should be working on an undergraduate degree. If you have an undergraduate degree, then you should be working on a graduate degree. Perhaps formal schooling would not benefit you. Perhaps your goal is to be a singer or a speaker. Then spend time learning how to sing or speak. Do not rely on your natural talents only. Thank God for those talents, but spend time sharpening yourself. Listen to experts in the fields you want to get into. Read books. Turn your car into a learning institution. Listen to books on CD's. All of these are examples of preparation. It is any action you are taking towards you being ready for when that time comes.

So you work full time. If you work for a company that has a tuition reimbursement plan, take advantage of it. Whatever the amount of the tuition is, it is 'more' money that the company is willing to give you to better you! I always count my annual salary, plus my bonuses and my tuition reimbursement to get a more accurate picture of what the company paid me. Tuition reimbursement is a good incentive for you to increase your marketability.

Hopefully you are working in an area that you enjoy and would like to remain in that field. If that is the case, take courses in that field. Your job is already providing you with the experience. So just add your "paper qualifications" to it. In fact, this is typically the stipulation for tuition reimbursements; It has to be job related.

When you are done with the degree or certification, you have made yourself more marketable. You have spent extra hours of your days going to school or taking courses. Now when opportunities for promotion within or outside the company comes, you will be able to confidently step up.

Are You Doing What You Really Want To Do?

AchievementRadio.com's

Are You Doing What You Really Want To Do?

Are You Doing What You Really Want To Do?
By Lesley Petersen

I love to write - this is what I really want to do.

How did I discover this as my passion? It took a while (a number of years!) to realize as I have been in different jobs that require development of written material for all sorts of reasons.........but the real passion is writing about what I believe, value and what I am totally interested in.

What's you passion in life? If you had to select one thing, what would it be?

Try not to clutter your choice with a whole lot of options - really seriously think of the one thing the "floats your boat"! Because if you do this, you create the space in your thinking and your life activities to invest the time and energy into something that has total meaning for you.

I have used a lot of my 'free time' to engage in writing, juggling this passion with my work and my coaching services. Because I discovered this passion, I was prepared and able to successfully manage this juggling act. Where it will lead me, I believe, is to a position where I won't have to juggle my time and focus anymore.....because I know writing is what I want to do.

So, how can you discover what your inner passion is?

Here are a couple of questions for you to consider, to help you find out what really is important, energizing and motivating in your life.

Think of your skills. What are you really good at? Where do you apply these skills and get satisfaction from or a feeling of success as a result?

Think about your past. When have you received positive, constructive feedback about your skills or abilities? What were you doing when you received this feedback? For example, I used to get comments such as "Where did you learn to write?" and feedback about how well I expressed an idea or concept in the written material I developed.

When do you feel most energized and motivated? What are you doing at these times?

Maybe your inner passion is worth pursuing to achieve financial gain or freedom. Perhaps it provides you with immense satisfaction and enjoyment of life as it balances out your work commitments. Whatever the reason, discover what you really want to do to add meaning to your life.

5 Tips To Keep On Being Motivated In Hard Times

5 Tips To Keep On Being Motivated In Hard Times

5 Tips To Keep On Being Motivated In Hard Times
By Suhardi Wang

"It's not what's happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it's your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you're going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny" - ANTHONY ROBBINS

It is always true that every person in this world must have experienced or been trapped in trouble and in hard times, regardless who you are; poor or wealthy, looking-good or not, young or old, male or female. Nobody is free from the trouble. All of the people truly want that happiness always comes to them.

However, good times and hard times always come in rotation. Sometimes you will have good times and sometimes you will have hard times. People have a tendency to feel good and great while the good times are coming to them, and otherwise they tend to feel bad, down, depressed and disappointed while they are in hard times and face the trouble.

That is not really the barrier if you can simply overcome your trouble so it will not affect all aspects of your life and break you down. There are some persons who are able to survive and get up in hard times and finally succeed in overcoming the trouble. These all depend on how you react, interpret and are going to do with them.

There are some tips that can help you to keep on being motivated although you are in hard times, so they can get you up or at least make you better ahead.

1. Realizing that the troubles do not make you down, rather they will make you better and stronger than you are today.

When you are facing the troubles, that means that you are being prepared to be a better and stronger person to face the bigger troubles and challenges in the future. The god will not give you the troubles that are bigger than your ability to solve them. Take them as your stepping stones to be more successful and better person. Even there is a quote that says if you want more success, you must multiply your failure and troubles.

2. Seeing something from different point of view.

You need to know that behind the troubles or hard times, there must be positive things we can take, so you can learn from them to solve them. Instead of feeling bad and down due to your troubles, it is better if you see them from different angle or point of view. It's like you are the producer of yourself that can change the viewing angle of the camera as your will.

3. Motivating yourself

One of the differences between the one that succeeds in getting up from hard times and the one that keeps on being down is that the one that gets up from hard times always self-motivate no matter how hard the moment they have. Motivation is your fuel to survive from your hard times. If you simply have no motivations, it will be easy for you to give up soon when the troubles and difficulties attack you. For more about self-motivating, please see my article "the power of motivating yourself".

4. Humor and laughter

Humor and laughter is an effective way to cure your sadness. This is free resource you can get anywhere and anytime with no cost. Even the laughter can give you better health and young-looking. Humor and laughter can make you laugh and smile that can destroy your bad mood. Turn on your TV and watch the humor programs or shows.

5. Refreshing yourself

Another way to eliminate your negative feeling is by refreshing. Refreshing is good to refresh your body and mind so you can think more clearly and wisely in solving your problems. Stressed and depressed mind can't help you more in overcoming them. You can visit your favorite place like beach with the relaxing sound of birds and wave, fresh-aired mountain, or you can do your hobbies like fishing in the sea, swimming or others. That will make you more relaxed. Refreshing will make you like the full power battery that has been re-charged so you are ready to face your life.

The conclusion is motivation can make you not to give up too soon when you are facing troubles. If you are chasing your goals and dreams, you will be faster and easier in achieving them with your motivation.

How To Get Motivated and Stay Motivated

How To Get Motivated and Stay Motivated

How To Get Motivated and Stay Motivated
By Avani Mehta

How many times does it happen that we wish to achieve something, start to take steps in that direction, only to give up after sometime? Don't we wish we could stay motivated enough to reach the end and achieve our goal? Moreover, how does one get motivated and stay motivated with things that one really doesn't like?

Here's my list:

1. Find out a real "reason" which motivates you to keep moving towards your goal.

If the reason doesn't inspire you, it doesn't get you excited to start working on your goal, then; probably it's not the right reason. You will have to dig deeper to find a reason that motivates you.

You will probably have to do this exercise for quite some time to get the right one.

2. Find out the real "cost" of failing this goal. A cost which would motivate you to run away from failure and push you to towards your goal.

Pain is a great motivator. There has been so many times where a powerful tomorrow doesn't inspire enough to move ahead. But just a reminder of how painful things could get is enough to start running towards the goal.

3. Keep reminders for both of them - The reason and the cost.

Have a photo of what you want somewhere, write it down in a book, put it on a post it and stick it in your cabinet, create a screen saver.... you can be quite creative here.

4. Share with your family and friends what you plan to do; especially with those who will hold you into account.

Sharing your goal, your reason and your cost, your entire analysis helps a lot. By doing so, you would be creating powerful reminders and support for yourself. If and when you go down and feel like giving up or cheating a bit, they will act as your biggest strength and remind you of the reason why you started with this in the first place. They will not let you fall back.

5. Break up your goal in small do-able tasks.

A huge goal, a tough goal or a goal which requires lot of time can appear quite over whelming and de-motivating. Breaking it up in small do-able tasks makes it look manageable. Moreover, since this requires thinking things over, it might just help in creating a detailed plan.

6. Set landmarks. Acknowledge yourself and celebrate whenever you cross a landmark.

Create landmarks for yourself; Landmarks which represent you finishing part of your goal, or reaching somewhere in your entire series of small tasks. Don't keep celebration out till you complete your entire goal. Celebration of crossing landmarks acts like boosters to keep moving towards the goal.

7. Chart your progress numerically.

There is something very powerful about numbers. They cannot lie. If it is possible, chart out your progress numerically. The better your numbers are the better you will feel.

8. Don't forget to have fun.

Whatever you do, don't forget to have fun. Keep things interesting. Introduce variety in all ways possible. These keep tasks from getting mundane or boring. They help in keeping the zest to reach goals alive.

9. Find a community related to your goals.

It's great to know you are not alone. Find out people, find out communities with goals similar to yours. Connect with them. Form new friends. Exchange ideas. Progress together. Have a healthy competition with each other. Share your learning on the way and grow and achieve your goals.

10. Find a guru.

Find a guru - a mentor for yourself. Find people who have been there and done that. Find people who have the knowledge and expertise required to reach your goals. They can provide you with tips, they can share their trials and they are living examples that someone has already done this. And so can you.

11. Don't beat yourself up.

If you get sidelined or distracted, if you catch yourself starting to give up, if you slip-up, don't beat yourself. It happens. Just pull yourself together and start working on your goal again.

The Beginning of Greatness

The Beginning of Greatness
By Grant Jones Jr.

Do you know what make certain people reach great success in sports? If not allow me to tell you, it is their mindset. Your mind is the beginning and the end of what can be achieved in your life. Let's take for example two athletes that have identical size, weight, and body composition. What makes one go on to have great success any the other one not able to have the same success? I know people would like to come up with all types of different reasons. The first and foremost reason is mindset.

An athlete can train his body for whatever sport he participate in, but if his mind is not condition right, they want excel to the best of their abilities. If you are parents of young children that play sports or will be playing sports I have written this for you. If you as a proud parent would love to see your child make it to the success level, it will begin with your mindset; this is because you are the initial programmers of your future star mind.

How many young athletes at the high school level that you see that goes through four years of high school sports and spends most of that time on the sideline? Why do you think they are on the sideline? In my opinion you are either a good athlete or you not and if you have the mindset that just being on the team are alright with you or them then they belong on the sideline. I know you may say that someone has to be on the sideline, and you would be right, but it does not need to be your child.

What make you think that some kids of good athlete follow in their parent footsteps and goes on to be good their self? No it's not breeding, its not luck, and it don't have to do with their parent abilities. Its mindset, I would believe that one of the biggest reason that Michael Jordan was as good as he was, had to do with that he never went around holding the thought that someone else was better them him or that he was stoppable, I would believe that he or someone condition his mind to believe that he was the best and no matter what it took he would succeed. This is where greatness begins and once your mind is right good things will follow.

If you have children that you would like to see come up in sports and be able to buy you that dream home in the future, you must invest in their mindset training now. I guarantee Tiger Woods, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning and a list of other great athletes parents did. So think about ways to assure your child of being the best that they can be for their good and just maybe yours.
