How To Explode Your Income By Using The Ole Football "Interception" Method

How To Explode Your Income By Using The Ole Football "Interception" Method

How To Explode Your Income By Using The Ole Football "Interception" Method
By Tracey Walker

Why do so many marketers/business owners struggle day in and day out with making sales? Maybe it's because too many dollars are spent marketing using the wrong mediums. Maybe it's because too many dollars are spent attracting the wrong customers. Or maybe it's because too much time and money is spent on targeting potential customers at the wrong time in the buying process!

The answer is that all of these scenarios lead to losses as opposed to profits. But the most important one is the last one, spending hard to come by advertising dollars on customers too early in their buying process.

Every customer, for every product takes time to make that buying decision. Let's say that you sale vacations for example. If you took most of your budget and paid for TV ads, would you get the number of looks you desire, probably so. However, would you get the number of sales you wanted? Probably not so. See, TV is most likely the 1st exposure to the product. A prospect sees the ad and it triggers something in their mind, like, "yeah, it would be good to go on vacation". But do they buy right then? No! Where do they go next... maybe they get some magazines or something like that. This is to see pictures and get specs right? The magazine or brochure is tangible and they can go back to it anytime they want with ease. But do most buy even now? No! Where does your prospect go last... to the INTERNET!

Now, on the internet, they can research what they saw on TV and in the brochure. They can compare prices and resorts. They can do it all from here. So where do you need to spend your advertising dollars... at the place right where your prospect is ready to buy! In this case, the internet!

Moral of the story, you should be intercepting your prospects where they are looking for you. In our example, spending too much money on TV is expensive and doesn't convert to the sales you need just to break even. Plus, it is the wrong time in the buying process, it's too early yet. Spending the money in the magazines is still okay, but most people don't buy immediately from what they see in the publication, as it relates to vacations. But if you spent your dollars advertising on the internet, when the customer has completed the research, is excited to make the purchase, is ready to buy with credit card in hand, you could change the total dynamic of your business.

Don't forget to intercept!

Work Creatively With Radio Stations and Other Advertising Outlets

Work Creatively With Radio Stations and Other Advertising Outlets
By Bruce A. Tucker

If you are even a little bit like me you love music and love listening to the radio while you work. For me, it is a good way to pass the time during the day while sitting at my desk.

Recently a friend of mine, who runs his own promotion company, expanded his business to concerts, bands and other musical acts. His first show in this genre is a style of music called freestyle. To me, freestyle music is old school club music, although there are some newer acts on the card, from what I was told.

Being that this was his first event, as you can imagine, he was a bit nervous. A slowing economy, music that is not so much main stream anymore and to top it off the show is booked at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ which holds about nine thousand people.

To his delight and not really any surprise to those that know my friend, the show sold out in a few weeks. He used a wonderful marketing effort combined with some creativity on a local radio station out of Philadelphia, PA.

The first step was to get the radio station to agree to plug the concert. That was fairly easy to do since he paid for that portion of it. However he wanted the radio station to go above and beyond just the normal advertising package that he purchased. He wanted them to plug the show every hour or so leading up to the date the tickets would go on sale. My friend's request, however, did not stop there. After the tickets went on sale he wanted the station to plug the show every hour. At first they thought he was crazy and said there is no way they could do that. So here is what my friend offered.

Beyond the normal cost of what he had already agreed to he offered them two things. The first being the radio station would receive compensation on every ticket sold. This meant each ticket sold would produce more revenue for the station. By accepting, the station agreed to the terms above. The second part of what my friend offered was 200 comp tickets to the show. Once the show sold out, the radio station used these tickets as a way to maintain listener ship to their station. Listeners had to stay tuned throughout the day and when they heard a certain song they were to dial the station's phone number and be the 96th caller. The winner would receive a pair of tickets to the show.

This was a win-win situation for everyone. My friend was willing to part with a portion of the profit, knowing that if the radio station had not plugged it as often as they did, it might not have sold out. The radio station made out because they earned more revenue then what they originally expected and were able to bolster their listeners to the station by keeping them tuned in throughout the day.

Whether you are working with radio, television, newspapers, online advertising agencies, are you thinking of creative ways that will benefit everyone involved? This is a great form of partnership that everyone enjoys. When making partnerships, such as my friend's, everyone involved has to equally benefit from it (or close to it as possible), otherwise one side will seem like they were taken advantage of.

Get your creative partnerships going to jump start your business, product sales and services that you offer. It worked wonders for my friend, it works well with us, and it should work well for you.

Don't Miss Out on Free Advertising - Print & Mail Wisely

Don't Miss Out on Free Advertising - Print & Mail Wisely

Don't Miss Out on Free Advertising - Print & Mail Wisely
By Jimi St. Pierre

A recent report by a top UK mailing systems specialist has highlighted a major missed promotional opportunity amongst European organizations.

Such businesses are missing out on €2.8 billion worth of free advertising. And how? Simply by failing to make better use of invoices and statements they send to customers.

This mailing specialist has calculated the value of the wasted space on such documents to be equal to 24% of the combined annual direct mail spend in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain put together. A major slice of this estimate - almost €1.8 billion of advertising space left unused - is made up by the Banking Sector.

It is becoming clear that international business is taking this missed opportunity very seriously. Technology analysts in the USA have given it a name - "transpromotional advertising" - a sure sign that this is a phenomenon to be embraced and implemented as a mainstream advertising method. Transpromotional advertising - or "transpromo" for short - is set to become a buzzword amongst marketers in the months to come.

What to do to activate Transpromo Advertising?

The advice for business large and small is to review the layout and style of invoices and statements, and plan for regular update of billing templates with suitable advertising messages and images.

Not only that, but it is a good idea to think in terms of the reverse of any statement or bills too: these days, printers with duplex (double-sided) mode are readily available - and are a must in any case in terms of paper-saving. Using the available space, visible when the paper is folded, is excellent advertising "real estate".

Having decided to revamp the printing process, it's always a good idea to check paper and envelope weights. Is there extra capacity for a small leaflet within the postage charge? In which case, the invoicing print run could easily comprise additional sheets with important advertising or communications messages.

Finally, it's a good idea to make sure you have the right printer for the job.

Which printer for Transpromo Advertising print runs?

High volume printing systems suitable for printing bills and statements include the new Xerox 650/1300 Continuous Feed Printing System which uses a new toner-based printing technology to achieve mono print speeds of 650 pages per minute (or 1,308 images per minute when printing on both sides of the page). Such systems are aimed at high volume, high end users.

But at the other end of the scale, for small enterprises looking to impress their clients and enhance their customer base, many robust printers are available with black and business colour capability (for attractive presentation without mission-critical colour proofing) and full duplex (ensuring most efficient use of paper). Such printers are available with budgets of a few hundred £'s for robust regular use and fast paper output for longer print runs.

The 8 Golden Rules of Successful Advertising

The 8 Golden Rules of Successful Advertising

The 8 Golden Rules of Successful Advertising
By Marcus Yeo

This article inspiration came from Peter Sun and his years of marketing philosophies, research, and survey. His proven business models have helped to turn numerous businesses in any field from negative profiting business into successful and profitable business. Here are some of the lessons I learned on successful advertising applicable to businesses in any form.

Golden Rules 1: Treasure your Existing Customers
Based on research marketing survey, it is 5 times easier to sell to your past clients than to get a new customer. Thus, your existing customers are definitely most targeted buyers. Since you have established your reputation and contact with your existing customers, you can sell something else to them by direct mail. It is by far the most efficient way to get more business. Due to this fact, it is only logical that 70% of your advertising dollars should be spent on re-selling to your existing customers.

Golden Rules 2: Target the Right Player
As far as possible, sell only to "players". It is far easier to make money by selling half as much but at double the price. This actually results in less work and more profit for your business, leaving you higher profit margin to improve your marketing and customer service. If you need to get new customers, by far the cheapest and most efficient way is to offer free sample of your product or service. You may be giving away your sample worth at certain market price, but in actual fact the sample only cost you a fraction of the "market price" known to your potential customers. Also equally importance is to aim your free sampling only at the "players".

Golden Rules 3: Generate Informative Ads
The more information you give in your ads, the more you'll sell. Provide as much as possible, information any interested buyer would wish to know. Remember that your ads are targeted at the 'players'. These are the people who want what you selling and have the money to pay for it. Since they are interested, they definitely interested in reading your informative ads. Don't you think it will be good if your ads is informative enough to let readers decide straight away that this is the product they looking for. Writing off the chances of your customers needs to get back to you as well as your competitors for details and best offered deal. To back this claim, research clearly shows that ads that look like editorial articles get 500% more readership than ads that obviously look like ads. So by creating your ads informative and looking like the stories in the publication, you will get more sales.

Golden Rules 4: Find the Right Appeal
When promoting your products, find the "right appeal". This could play a critical part in your sales. Your must get the right appeal across in your advertising. What benefits your customers get by using your product. And the best way to find the right appeal is to ask your best customer why they buy from you. Use benefit headlines in all your ads. On average 5 times as many people read the headline as read the rest of the ad. If reader's attention is caught by the headline - they read on. The best headlines are those that promise the reader a benefit

Golden Rules 5: Client Testimonials can Works Wonder
Client testimonials increase credibility and sales. Like a referral, a testimonial is a third party endorsement and therefore is much more believable. If you say something about your product or service it may sound like boasting. If someone else says it, it's believable.

Golden Rules 6: Monitor your Ads Response
Never ever run any advertisement without monitoring the response. If it doesn't sell your products, get rid of it fast. But once you find an ad, sales pitch or marketing strategy that works for you, keep doing it. In fact you need to monitor everything you do to promote your business. Have records of details of each promotion or ad you run and the results it brought you. It definitely maximizes your advertising results per dollar spent on it.

Golden Rules 7: Use the Right Gauging Tool
Don't try to be creative or original. Pretty ads don't sell products. The most appealing and artistic ads seldom make people buy the products they are supposed to be selling. The ads that win awards for the advertising agencies that create them rarely win sales awards for the clients! The only advertising results from your point of view, is not how many people remember your ads - but how many actually went and bought your product. High recall rate is only provides advertisement for advertising agencies. There is no relationship between advertising recall and actual sales.

Golden Rules 8: Test your Ads at Small Scale
Test every ad, sales letter or marketing campaign before betting your house on it. Test everything on a small scale before you commit large amounts of money to it. If it works you expand it. If not, you change it until it does work. Don't listen to opinions and advice from well meaning friends, family and business associates. Test the ad instead - you'll make a lot more money that way.

Effective Advertising for Small Business Owners

Effective Advertising for Small Business Owners

Effective Advertising for Small Business Owners
By Lynne A Saarte

As a small business owner, you are undoubtedly aware of the importance of advertising. Unfortunately, you are probably also keenly familiar with the costs, which can often be prohibitive. A key to your survival in today's fiercely competitive market is your ability to find inspired, cost-effective ways to promote your business. Let's discuss some of the options available to you.

An email campaign is very cost-effective, as you can usually conduct one at no cost as long as you do all of the work yourself. It can attract a moderate amount of business, as well. If you focus on creating appealing, noticeable emails with pertinent content, readers will respond. It is even more valuable if you can personalize each email, preferably by referring to the recipient's name in the subject line. Needless to say, that can be quite difficult and time-consuming. The primary obstacle to conducting a successful email campaign is building up a list of email addresses to which you can send your information. Email campaigns are only effective if you can reach a hefty number of potential customers, and it may take a significant amount of time before you can build up your campaign to a sufficient level.

Another relatively cheap option is to distribute a newsletter. This is very much like an email campaign, except that it is in the traditional, hard copy form. You design a newsletter - preferably in an eye-catching format - and print out one copy, or, alternatively, save it to a disk or thumb drive. Of course, you can also choose to print out all of the newsletters yourself, but this in not really necessary since newsletter printing is rather inexpensive. You can take your copy or disk to a print shop and get copies printed, usually for less than ten cents per sheet. You then take the newsletters to the post office, where they will help you package them and send them to your target audience. You can usually pinpoint a specific area or neighborhood, which is very convenient when you are targeting a particular demographic.

There are drawbacks to newsletter printing and mailing as a means of advertisement, however. For one, the costs are greater that in an email campaign. Also, newsletters are somewhat impersonal and therefore do not always illicit a high rate of response among readers. The keys to maximizing your efforts in a newsletter campaign are design and consistency. If your newsletter is attractive and well laid-out, it will fare better with your customers. And, if you consistently send out your newsletter every week or every month, it will stand a better chance of "hitting home" with the recipients.

Yet another advertising technique is to put a color brochure or pamphlet into a newspaper as an insert. However, because of the color printing and type of paper that is usually used, this is significantly more expensive than the other methods we have talked about. Also, it can be extremely costly to include inserts (or even traditional ads, for that matter) in a daily newspaper. Unless you have a relatively large advertising budget, you are probably best sticking with other methods, or at least placing inserts in smaller, less frequent publications.

There are more traditional advertising methods available to you as a small business owner. You can advertise in newspapers, though, as we mentioned, this can be quite expensive. Radio and television are also options, those these are often too expensive for the small business budget.

The key, again, is to be creative. You must think unconventionally in order to maximize your advertising dollars. Using the internet is relatively cheap, but the competition out there is also fierce unless you find a way to make yourself (and your product) stand out from the crowd.

Whatever your method of advertising, be unique and innovative and, above all, persistent. These qualities, when incorporated into your advertising techniques, will eventually pay off.

Every business must believe in looking at the brighter side of things. Level up even with your marketing tools. Don't just use any ordinary signs. Avail of vinyl signs. A good old poster will be a nice decoration. But an artist canvas will be nicer.

Stay Positive

You may have been hearing this phrase since time immemorial. But in business, this is most appropriate. You are dealing with just about everything every day of your business life. So at the end of each day, it is so easy to succumb to negativity because of so many factors.

What causes negativity in a business and the workplace? These are only some.

Advertising Your Startup Business

Advertising Your Startup Business
By Kaye Marks

Sometimes what creates a long lasting impression in any customer's mind is not just the product being sold. Watch any commercial, any ad campaign, and a noticeable trend can be seen: they are flashy, funny, eye catching, memorable, and rarely for just the product or service. Making a customer remember you can be one of the most important details with any business, even more so for a fledgling company just getting onto its feet.

Advertising and marketing are simply a must if you want anyone to realize you are there, but what kind of advertising is just as important. Simply showing people your products isn't always going to make them remember you. People want to feel safe with a company if they're going to do business with them.

For a young business, flyers, brochures, or catalogs are going to be the chief source of advertisement, which is where the idea of showmanship can really generate enthusiasm. Never underestimate the impact something as simple as color printing can have on a person.

If you are going to hand them a flyer, you are handing them an introduction into your business, and in the case of a small business, you are handing them an invitation to get to know who you are. Establishing that element of trust will keep customers coming back for years and generate the kind of customer base needed to survive.

It does not take much to add that much needed flair of personality to your advertisements. A simple splash of the right colors can give a person a good feel for not only who you are but the kind of business you run. Taking the time to design and add unique colors to a beautiful catalogue shows people the amount of passion a new business owner has. You want them to remember it as more than just another advertisement, something a black and white print out will certainly ensure. A vibrant color scheme can catch the eye and the mind and remain with a person for weeks to come.

People are surrounded by advertisements in every area of their life. They see company after company attempting to pull them in, and this is the competition you will be dealing with. The toughest challenge for the new business owner is standing out among the competition in order to form that bond and begin your base of loyal customers. There is no reason not to add the last touch of color printing in order to make people happy to give you their undivided attention, and that will put you one step closer to making your first sales.

How To Choose a Good Vinyl Sign Company

How To Choose a Good Vinyl Sign Company

How To Choose a Good Vinyl Sign Company
By Hal Lewis

So, you are in the market for some types of vinyl signs but are confused about where to look. Well look no further as soon all of your questions shall be answered. Your best bet is to ask around and see who family and friends or even acquaintances have used in the past for their sign needs. See if they had any problems, if they found the company reliable, and if they felt their pricing was fair. Word of mouth is any businesses best friend and they love referrals. With many companies relying more on out of the box advertising methods, these types of signs are gaining popularity.

Vinyl signs include magnetic signs, banners, and even vinyl decals. They are all in the same family and can easily be ordered online in addition to purchasing them at your local sign shop. The great thing about these signs is that they can be used both indoors as well as out, they are reusable, they last a long time, they require no installation, and they are affordable. They also come in various colors and sizes. Most vinyl signs are created by using digital printers and screen printers. When you are comparing prices you need to be aware of the fact that for this particular business, speaking solely about vinyl signs, not electric or any other type, companies do not use a cost based approach. Although the materials for vinyl signs is cheap enough and the labor does not require too much effort, the initial cost of the machine that helps to create them in extremely expensive and this is why the pricing strategy is the way that it is.

Whether you decide to shop online or in person you will be able to view some of the samples that are available and often you can see an image in advance of what your signs will look like. Without someone guiding you in the right direction you really have no way to know for certain if the company that you are about to conduct business with is a good company or a bad one. You can call the Better Business Bureau of your area and see if there are any negative ratings about the company that you are contemplating doing business with. You can shop around and make some price comparisons to see if the pricing for their signs are comparable.

Sign companies know that it is extremely important to begin the customer relationship with your first purchase and they want you to prosper as much as you want to prosper as that means more work for them as you expand. So be wise but do not be cheap because remember you get what you pay for.
